The Seventh Annual Mental Health Awareness Fair and "5Kate" Walk/Run set for Saturday October 15 at 10 AM at Nay Aug Park in Scranton
Help “unmask” mental illness and show that we do not have to hide mental illness. The Halloween themed "5Kate" event is an opportunity for people to show that it is time to stop the discrimination and stigma surrounding mental illness and instead insist on better care and greater understanding and compassion.

Talking about your emotions is key to combatting mental health issues. "The most important thing is to start these conversations when they're younger. Hit the elementary school aged kids. Start talking about what depression is, what sadness is. Help them learn to identify what they're feelings are," Professional counselor Sarah Shoener said.
